Banana Oat Cookies

Banana Oat Cookies


For this recipe you will need:

  • A baking sheet

  • A fork or masher

  • Mixing bowl

  • Optional: Knife to chop up chocolate if you do not have chocolate chips.




  • 1 cup of oats (any type of oats is fine. Rolled or Steel Oats do need more time soaking in the banana mush before baking)

  • 2 ripe bananas

  • Chocolate chips or a chocolate bar

  • Butter or oil. Enough to grease the baking sheet.


Optional Ingredients:

  • 1/4 tsp of cinnamon 

  • 1/4 tsp of nutmeg

  • 2 tbsp of a nut butter



  1. Preheat your oven to 400F.

  2. In a mixing bowl, mash up your bananas. 

  3. Add your oats. If you are using Rolled or Steel Oats let them mix with the mashed bananas for 10mins before continuing. This allows the oats to soften.

  4. If using a chocolate bar. Chop up the chocolate bar. (I used only half of my chocolate bar.) Add your chocolate to the bananas and oats.

  5. Combine all the optional ingredients to the bananas, oats and chocolate. 

  6. Once combined, grease your baking sheet. 

  7. Scoop your mixture into small circles on the baking sheet.

  8. Depending on how big your cookies are, bake them from 10 to 15mins.
